Do I have to bring a mold assessor in from Austin?
No. TDLR’s Oct. 26, 2026 file shows two licensed mold assessment companies with Cedar Park addresses and 30 licensed consultants in Williamson County. You choose and hire the assessor, and we follow the protocol that consultant writes.
Our power stayed on during the 2021 freeze and we dried the leak with fans. Is that enough?
Often it is. A closed wall with wet insulation can stay damp long after the paint feels dry. Bubbling paint near the floor, a baseboard pulling away, or a damp smell after the house sits closed for a weekend are reasons to get a moisture reading. Normal readings mean there is nothing to remove.
We live on Riviera Drive by Buttercup Creek. Should we wait for the city’s drainage project?
Not for mold that is already there. The Riviera East drainage improvements are in design, with construction anticipated to start in fall 2027. Existing growth comes out the same way whether the creek work is done or not. Until then, after a storm puts water against your walls, get the wet carpet and pad out and the area read inside the 24 to 48 hour window.
How will I know the remediation passed?
At 25 contiguous square feet or more, the independent assessor checks the area against the written protocol after we finish, and a pass is followed by your certificate. On smaller jobs you get our photos and final moisture readings.
