Licensed mold remediation in Pflugerville

That covers homes across the city, including Old Town, Windermere, Highland Park, Falcon Pointe and Blackhawk, and nearby Round Rock and Hutto.

The evaluation is a scheduled visit: a moisture-meter walk of the wet area, a look behind what can be opened safely, and a written line-item estimate before anything comes out. If the growth is large enough to bring in the state process, we explain it at that visit, and we document the job for your insurance adjuster.

What causes mold in Pflugerville homes

Most of the mold we remove in Pflugerville traces back to one wet event that was dried on the surface and not inside the wall. Two dates come up often. In February 2021 the city’s water treatment plant lost power on Feb. 15, system pressure dropped below 20 psi and a boil-water notice went out, while more than 42,000 Oncor customers in the area sat without electricity. Houses with no heat for days split pipes in exterior walls and attics, and some of those walls were patched without anyone checking the insulation behind them.

The other is creek water. The city names Pfluger Park and Windermere Park on Gilleland Creek as its usual flood spots, and Wilbarger Creek drains the newer east side around Lake Pflugerville. Water that sits against the bottom of a wall for a day or two wicks into drywall and the base plate, and EPA guidance is to dry wet materials within 24 to 48 hours. When that window passes, a musty smell along the baseboard is usually the first clue.

How mold remediation works in Texas

Texas splits the work between two licenses. A mold assessment consultant investigates, samples and writes the protocol. A remediation company like ours removes the mold to that protocol. State law does not allow one license holder to do both on the same project, which is why we never test our own work.

  1. Free on-site evaluation. Moisture readings, the affected area measured, a written estimate.
  2. The assessor’s protocol. When the mold covers 25 contiguous square feet or more, an independent licensed mold assessment consultant writes the remediation protocol. You hire the assessor directly.
  3. Notice to the state. For those larger jobs we file a notification with TDLR at least five calendar days before work starts, so the start date is set by that notice, not by how fast we can get there.
  4. Containment and removal. Plastic containment with negative air and HEPA air scrubbers, removal of the materials the protocol calls out, HEPA vacuuming and cleaning of what stays.
  5. Drying. Commercial dehumidifiers and air movers until the framing reads dry. The source of the water has to be fixed first, or the job does not hold.
  6. Clearance and the certificate. The assessor inspects and, when the area passes, you receive a Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation within 10 days. If you sell the house, Texas requires you to give the buyer a copy of each certificate issued in the previous five years, so keep it with your closing papers.

For growth under 25 contiguous square feet the assessor step is not required by the state, and we can usually schedule the work straight from the free evaluation. It is still done under the same license and the same containment practices.

Finding a licensed mold assessor near Pflugerville

You choose the assessor, and you should. TDLR’s public licensee files, updated Oct. 26, 2026, list 52 licensed mold assessment consultants in Travis County and 30 in Williamson County, plus two licensed mold assessment companies with a Pflugerville address. Any of them can write the protocol we work from. Before you hire one, look the license number up on TDLR’s license search; it shows whether the license is current and who holds it. You can look up our license, RCO 1589, the same way.

Mold remediation and homeowners insurance

Whether a policy pays for mold usually turns on the water that caused it: a sudden pipe break is treated differently from a slow leak. We do not promise coverage. We do document the job the way adjusters ask for it: photos before, during and after, daily moisture readings, the assessor’s protocol and the final certificate. We can talk to your adjuster directly and can bill your carrier directly when the claim is approved.

If the mold followed a water loss we already handled, see water damage cleanup in Pflugerville. The full service is described on our mold remediation page, and the Pflugerville city page covers everything else we do here.

Pflugerville mold remediation FAQs

Is there a licensed mold assessor based in Pflugerville?

Yes. TDLR’s licensee file dated Oct. 26, 2026 lists two licensed mold assessment companies with a Pflugerville address, and dozens of licensed consultants in Travis and Williamson counties. You hire the assessor yourself; we work from whichever licensed assessor’s protocol you choose.

Why can’t you start a large mold job tomorrow?

For mold covering 25 contiguous square feet or more, Texas requires the assessor’s protocol first and a notice to TDLR at least five calendar days before remediation begins. Smaller jobs can usually be scheduled directly after the free evaluation.

Our walls got wet in the February 2021 freeze. Should we worry now?

Only if something tells you to: a smell when the air conditioning cycles off, a stain at the base of a wall, or soft drywall. Mold needs moisture to keep growing, so a wall that was dried properly in 2021 is usually fine. If a pipe was patched without the cavity being opened, a moisture reading at the free evaluation will tell you.

Who signs off that the mold is gone?

On jobs of 25 contiguous square feet or more, the independent assessor does the post-remediation check, and you receive the Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation. We do not grade our own work.
